# Aggregate allocations

> Read the totals that the market calculates for groups of accounting points.

The market also calculates totals for groups of accounting points and uses these totals to settle your balance group. An aggregate allocation is one such total. For example, it can be the consumption of all profiled accounting points of your balance group in one metering grid area.

## What it includes

Each aggregate allocation tells which accounting points it includes. For example, it can include only the accounting points of one balance group, one supplier or one area. It also tells if the volumes come from metered values or from a profile, and which party calculated the total.

## Finality

The market sends the same total more than once. It sends a first value soon after delivery and new values later when more data comes in. Each value shows how final it is:

* **Preliminary**: the first value, before the market has all the data.
* **Revised**: a value that corrects the preliminary value.
* **Final**: the value for settlement and invoicing.
* **Correction**: a value that comes after the final value and replaces it.

To get the current value, use the most final value. If two values are equally final, use the latest one. In Germany, the daily totals (Summenzeitreihen) are preliminary, and the totals from the balance group settlement are final.

Each value also has a quality, as for [allocations per accounting point](https://docs.engrate.io/market-communication/allocations/accounting-points.md).

## Accounting points

Each accounting point shows the aggregate allocations that include it. See [Accounting points](https://docs.engrate.io/market-communication/portfolio/accounting-points.md).
