A supplier switch lets you take over supply of an accounting point as the new supplier. You tell Engrate which accounting point you want to supply and from which date. Engrate sends the request to the grid operator in the format of the market. Then Engrate keeps the decision of the grid operator as the state of the switch.

Declare a switch

For each switch, you give the accounting point, the effective date, the balance group, the grid operator and the customer at the accounting point. Some markets need more data. For example, in Germany you also tell if the customer can get reduced levies under the Energy Financing Act (EnFG). You can declare many switches together. Engrate accepts all of them or none of them. Engrate does not accept a switch for an accounting point that already has an open switch.

Follow a switch

Engrate shows the state of each switch. You can see when Engrate sent the request and if the grid operator accepted or rejected the switch. When the grid operator rejects a switch, you see the reason that the market gave. The grid operator also decides if your request came in time for the effective date. If Engrate cannot send a request, for example because data is missing, the switch shows the cause. Engrate does not send a failed request again on its own.

After the switch

When the grid operator accepts the switch, you supply the accounting point from the effective date. The accounting point shows this supply period together with its master data. See Accounting points.
